IMO METH FACTORY: NDLEA DECLARES DRUG KINGPIN, 3 ASSOCIATES WANTED, BLOCKS N9.8BN FUND

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared a suspected drug kingpin and three of his associates wanted in connection with the discovery of a large methamphetamine factory in Imo State.

The agency also announced the blocking of N9.8 billion linked to the syndicate’s operations as part of efforts to dismantle their financial network. NDLEA operatives had earlier raided the clandestine laboratory, seizing large quantities of methamphetamine and precursor chemicals.

The NDLEA urged members of the public to provide information that could lead to the arrest of the fugitives, assuring that investigations are ongoing and that justice would be served. The agency emphasised its determination to rid the country of drug production and trafficking networks.

The development has drawn attention to the growing challenge of synthetic drug manufacturing in parts of Nigeria. Security experts have called for stronger collaboration between agencies and communities to combat the menace effectively.

The NDLEA reiterated its commitment to disrupting drug supply chains and protecting the health and future of young Nigerians from the harmful effects of illicit substances.
