INDIANA WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED PLOT TO KIDNAP AND KILL PRESIDENT TRUMP
A 50-year-old woman from Indiana has been arrested after allegedly traveling to Washington, D.C., with plans to kidnap and kill U.S. President Donald Trump.
The suspect, Nathalie Rose Jones, was taken into custody on Saturday, August 16, following disturbing posts she made on Facebook. In one post, Jones directly tagged the FBI, writing that she was willing to “sacrificially” kill the President using violent methods.
According to federal investigators, Jones’ online history revealed a pattern of threats against Trump. She had called him a “terrorist,” accused his administration of running a dictatorship, and blamed him for what she described as “extreme and unnecessary loss of life” during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Authorities say this case is especially serious because Jones didn’t just post threats online — she allegedly acted on them by traveling to D.C. with the stated intention of carrying them out.
She is now facing multiple federal charges, including:
Threatening to kill, kidnap, or harm the President of the United States
Transmitting threats across state lines
In a strong statement, D.C. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro emphasized the seriousness of the case:
“Threatening the life of the President is one of the most serious crimes and will be met with swift and unwavering prosecution. Make no mistake—justice will be served.”
The U.S. Secret Service is currently handling the investigation, while the prosecution is being led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Josh Satter.
This case highlights the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in preventing violent threats against national leaders, especially when individuals openly broadcast their intentions online.
