INEC DISOWNS FAKE 2027 AD-HOC STAFF RECRUITMENT NOTICE
The Independent National Electoral Commission has warned Nigerians against a fake online notice claiming that it has begun recruiting and training ad-hoc staff for the 2027 General Election.
INEC said the message, which is circulating online, directs prospective applicants to a website purportedly created for the recruitment exercise. However, the commission clarified that the information did not originate from it and described the website as fake and unauthorised.
The electoral body advised members of the public not to click on the link or provide personal information through the platform.
INEC also warned Nigerians against submitting documents or making payments to individuals or websites claiming to be involved in the recruitment process.
The commission urged the public to rely only on its verified communication channels and official website for information about recruitment and election-related activities.
It added that it had previously issued warnings about fraudulent websites and fake recruitment advertisements falsely linked to the commission.
INEC urged Nigerians to disregard the latest notice and avoid sharing it with others, stressing the need for members of the public to verify online information before responding to recruitment opportunities.
The warning comes as preparations and political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue across the country.
