INJURED CHUKWUEZE SET TO MISS CRUCIAL AFCON QUALIFIERS
Samuel Chukwueze is expected to miss Nigeria’s November Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Tanzania after suffering a left hip injury.
The AC Milan winger could face at least two months on the sidelines, according to reports citing Italian media. He has undergone a specialist assessment and is expected to be reviewed again in 10 to 15 days.
Chukwueze developed the problem following Milan’s 3–2 Serie A victory over Atalanta and subsequently missed their Europa League match against Bournemouth.
The reported recovery period puts his involvement in Nigeria’s fixtures on November 13 and 17 in serious doubt.
His potential absence would leave Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle needing another option on the right side of the attack.
The setback also interrupts an encouraging start to Chukwueze’s club season. The 27-year-old had made eight appearances across competitions, contributing two assists while featuring at right wing-back under Rúben Amorim.
For now, the next medical assessment should provide a clearer picture of his recovery. A confirmed return date has not been announced.
