INSTITUTE SEEKS PARTNERSHIP WITH OYO GOVT ON CAPACITY BUILDING
The Institute of Leadership, Coaching and Strategy has initiated talks with the Oyo State Government to explore collaboration on capacity building and leadership development within the public service.
The engagement was led by the institute’s President, Olasunkade Azeez, as part of efforts to promote ethical leadership, governance efficiency, and professional development across key sectors.
During the visit, the delegation was received by the Oyo State Head of Service, Olubunmi Oni, alongside top government officials including Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Salihu Adelabu, and Civil Service Commission Chairman, Kamorudeen Aderibigbe.
Discussions focused on building cooperative frameworks to support training initiatives, strengthen leadership standards, and adopt global best practices to improve service delivery.
Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Secretary Taiwo Niran Mustapha described the engagement as timely, noting that effective leadership and policy direction are critical to national development. He referenced past leaders such as Obafemi Awolowo, Samuel Ladoke Akintola, and Simeon Adebo for their roles in shaping governance in Nigeria.
Azeez said the institute is seeking collaboration to provide strategic support and upskill civil servants for improved performance, adding that its programmes offer globally recognised certifications and professional development opportunities. He also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for reform-driven initiatives in the state.
In her remarks, Oni reaffirmed the state’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, and improved service delivery, highlighting reforms such as performance management systems, cadre-based training, and strengthened policy frameworks. She added that leadership development in the civil service would continue to focus on integrity, vision, and excellence.
