IRAN CHIEF NEGOTIATOR SAYS US MUST ACCEPT PROPOSAL OR RISK “FAILURE” AS TALKS INTENSIFY
A senior Iranian negotiator has issued a firm warning to the United States, insisting that Washington must accept Tehran’s latest proposal or face diplomatic failure, as tensions remain high over ongoing negotiations.
The statement was made by Iran’s top negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who emphasized that the current proposal represents what Iran considers a final and workable framework for resolving outstanding disputes.
According to him, any delay or rejection from the United States would amount to a breakdown in the process, as Iran believes it has already presented sufficient conditions for a possible agreement.
Ghalibaf maintained that Tehran’s position is rooted in protecting national interests and ensuring that past grievances and sanctions-related issues are adequately addressed in any deal.
He also reiterated Iran’s long-standing claim that trust between both sides remains fragile, stressing that negotiations must be based on mutual respect rather than pressure or unilateral demands.
The remarks come amid renewed diplomatic exchanges between Iran and United States, where both countries have continued to disagree on key issues including sanctions relief, security guarantees, and regional stability.
While Iran insists its proposal is balanced and realistic, the United States is still reviewing the terms as discussions continue behind closed doors.
Analysts say the latest warning signals a critical moment in the talks, with both sides facing increasing pressure to either compromise or risk another diplomatic deadlock.
For now, the future of the negotiations remains uncertain, with expectations hinging on whether Washington will respond positively to Tehran’s demands or allow the standoff to continue.
