Liverpool secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday, with Alexander Isak scoring the only goal of the match in the 57th minute. The Swedish striker converted after good work from Cody Gakpo, helping Liverpool leave the south coast with all three points.

Manchester City produced the day’s biggest result, defeating Sunderland 5-3 in an eight-goal thriller at the Etihad Stadium. Enzo Fernandez opened the scoring for City in the ninth minute before Sunderland’s Brian Brobbey responded in the 12th minute. Rayan Cherki restored City’s lead in the 29th minute, but Brobbey struck again in the 33rd minute to make it 2-2.

City regained control before half-time when Antoine Semenyo put them ahead in the 43rd minute. Semenyo then scored his second of the game in the 57th minute to extend the advantage, but Brobbey completed his hat-trick two minutes later to keep Sunderland within touching distance. Erling Haaland eventually sealed the victory for City with his 81st-minute goal.

At Craven Cottage, Fulham and Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw. United took the lead through an own goal by Lisandro Martínez in the 63rd minute, but Fulham were denied all three points when Matheus Cunha equalised in the 89th minute, with his effort taking a deflection before finding the net.

There was no goal at Elland Road as Leeds United and Crystal Palace finished 0-0. Palace briefly thought they had taken the lead through Tyrick Mitchell, but the goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR review. The four Sunday fixtures produced 15 goals in total, with Manchester City’s victory keeping them perfect in the league while Liverpool also picked up an important away win.
