Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has openly admitted that he would love to see his former Arsenal teammate Reiss Nelson return to Fulham.

Nelson, 25, spent last season on loan at Fulham but was limited to just 12 appearances due to a hamstring injury he picked up in December. Before his setback, the winger managed two goals and one assist, showing flashes of his potential.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, Iwobi praised Nelson’s qualities and said both he and his Fulham teammates would welcome the Arsenal man back.

“His style of play is very explosive. He is very sharp. I just hope that he returns fit and healthy as soon as possible,” Iwobi said.

“It would be nice for him to come back to Fulham, because we know the sort of player he is. I can try to be an agent – but I am not!”

Iwobi also revealed that while many people are pressuring Nelson to decide his future, he prefers to let things play out naturally.

Nelson, who has played 90 games for Arsenal with eight goals and nine assists, still faces uncertainty over his long-term future at the Emirates.

For now, Fulham fans will be hoping that Iwobi’s wish comes true and Nelson makes his return to Craven Cottage.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
