JAMB DENIES CLAIMS OF HIKE IN UTME AND DIRECT ENTRY REGISTRATION FEES
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed reports suggesting an increase in its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration fees.
In a statement on Friday, JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, clarified that the registration fees remain unchanged: N7,200 for UTME without mock exams, N8,700 with mock exams, and N5,700 for Direct Entry candidates.
The Board emphasized that the claims of a fee hike are false, misleading, and completely unfounded.
“These fees have remained consistent since 2019. It is important to recall that in 2018, the Federal Executive Council approved a reduction in the UTME application fee from N5,000 to N3,500, effective from the 2019 registration exercise. Since then, the Board has maintained the same fee structure, despite rising operational costs,” the statement added.
