JAMIE VARDY ISSUES AN APOLOGY TO LEICESTER CITY FANS FOLLOWING THE TEAM'S RELEGATION.
Jamie Vardy, Leicester City’s forward, has apologized to fans following the club’s relegation from the Premier League, labeling the 2025 season a "total embarrassment" and a "s**t show."
Vardy posted a statement on Monday via X, expressing his deep disappointment with the club’s performance and admitting that no words could fully capture his feelings of anger and sadness.
“At this point, I don’t even know what to say. No words I have can ever express my feelings of anger and sadness with the way this season has gone. There are no excuses,” he stated.
Leicester’s 2025 campaign marks their second relegation from the topflight in three seasons. The team also made unwanted Premier League history by going nine consecutive home games without scoring a single goal.
Acknowledging the entire club's failure, Vardy, who has been with Leicester through many highs, including their 2015/16 title-winning season, expressed his disappointment.
Looking back on his extensive career at the club, Vardy shared how much the current situation pains both him and the supporters.
“Having been at this club for so long, we’ve experienced so many highs and successes — and this season has been nothing but miserable and for me personally, a total embarrassment. It hurts, and I know you’re feeling it too,” he added.
Directly addressing the fans, Vardy expressed his apology for the team's performance and the way the season came to an end.
“To the fans: I’m sorry. Sorry we haven’t performed, and sorry we end the 2025 season with such a s**t show,” he added.
