JCB SECURES $45M CONTRACT TO SUPPLY BACKHOE LOADERS TO US MARINE CORPS
JCB, the world’s leading manufacturer of backhoe loaders, has landed a $45 million contract with the United States Marine Corps (USMC) to supply its powerful 4CX Backhoe Loaders over the next five years.
This new deal follows an earlier $39 million agreement in 2024 for militarised Multi Terrain Loaders, marking the second major contract between JCB and the USMC in just two years. The order also includes operator training and specialized attachments to ensure the machines are fully mission-ready.
Richard Fox-Marrs, President and CEO of JCB North America, expressed pride in the partnership:
“We’re proud that, after an extensive evaluation, the Marine Corps has once again selected JCB. As the world’s leading Backhoe Loader manufacturer, we value this continued partnership and the confidence placed in our ability to deliver machines that meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.”
The JCB 4CX Backhoe Loader is designed for both tactical and jobsite use. Its standout feature is the side-shift backhoe with Powerslide system, which provides up to 10% more digging range compared to traditional centremount machines. This innovation allows operators to work efficiently in confined spaces or alongside walls and obstacles without constantly repositioning the loader — a major advantage in both military and construction environments.
With this latest contract, JCB strengthens its role as a trusted defence equipment supplier to the U.S. Department of Defense, while reinforcing its long-standing support for global military and infrastructure operations.
