JOHN TERRY: CHELSEA NOT READY TO WIN PREMIER LEAGUE THIS SEASON

Chelsea legend John Terry has played down his former club’s chances of winning the Premier League title this season, saying the team lacks the experience needed to compete with the league’s top sides.

The Blues have started the campaign strongly, winning two and drawing one of their first three league matches. They also lifted the UEFA Conference League last season and secured a return to the Champions League.

Despite this progress, Terry believes Chelsea are still some way off the level of title contenders like Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal.

“I’m not sure Chelsea have enough experience within their squad to push Liverpool. I don’t want to put too much pressure on the team either, but I think it’s Liverpool’s to lose,” Terry told talkSPORT.

The former Chelsea captain admitted the squad’s youth and inexperience remain a big challenge.

“We are a young squad. Do I think we will [win it]? No, I don’t, being honest with you. But I think we’ll be right amongst it,” he added.

Chelsea will be hoping to keep their good form going when they face Brentford this weekend. Fans are eager to see if the Blues can continue proving doubters wrong, even if the title may still be a step too far this season.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
