Residents of Oshodi, Lagos, witnessed a heartwarming scene on Wednesday when a young woman gave birth by the roadside.

Eyewitnesses said the woman was travelling from Ajah to an undisclosed destination when she suddenly went into labour. The unexpected situation quickly drew the attention of nearby women, who rushed to her aid and helped deliver the baby safely.

One onlooker described the event as “a clear act of God,” praising the quick response that ensured both mother and child were unharmed.

Attempts to contact the woman’s husband were initially unsuccessful, but friends on the scene helped coordinate support until he arrived shortly after the delivery.

The joyful atmosphere drew many passersby, who stopped to congratulate the new mother. Market women in the area called the birth a blessing and a sign of divine favour for the community.
