JULIET IBRAHIM EARNS FIRST DEGREE AT 39, CELEBRATES MILESTONE IN EDUCATION AND PERSEVERANCE
Acclaimed Ghanaian actress, producer, and author Juliet Ibrahim has proudly earned her first university degree—a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing Communications from Berkeley College—at the age of 39.
Sharing the news on social media, Ibrahim opened up about the long road that led to this milestone. After completing high school, she chose to delay her own education in order to support her younger siblings, taking on responsibilities as the eldest daughter.
“Right after high school, I made the choice to work so my siblings could go to school. I never thought I’d have the chance to go back and earn a degree,” she explained.
Her path back to education was reignited four years ago when friend and advisor Busie Matsiko-Andan encouraged her to revisit her academic goals. Motivated by that conversation, Ibrahim enrolled at Berkeley College as an online adult learner, balancing her studies with the demands of motherhood and a full-time creative career.
She praised the institution for creating a welcoming environment for non-traditional students like herself.
“Berkeley College accepted me with open arms and made me feel seen and supported throughout this process,” she shared.
Despite the challenges, Ibrahim remained determined. Today, she celebrates the fulfillment of a dream long postponed—and eagerly anticipates walking across the stage at her graduation ceremony.
“It hasn’t been easy, but I stayed focused. That moment on stage will be unforgettable.”
In addition to her achievements in film and writing, Ibrahim is known for her philanthropic work and advocacy. Her memoir, A Toast to Life, explores her personal journey in greater detail, including the setbacks she has overcome and the triumphs she’s earned along the way.
Her latest achievement serves as an inspiration to many, especially women pursuing delayed goals due to life’s responsibilities.
“To every woman working toward her dreams no matter how late it seems—this is proof that it’s never too late.”
Juliet Ibrahim’s accomplishment stands as a testament to resilience, purpose, and the importance of investing in oneself at any age.
