The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano has received three operational vehicles from the Kano State Government to strengthen its campaign against drug abuse and trafficking.

The vehicles were officially handed over to the State Commander, Dahiru Lawal, by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ibrahim, on behalf of Governor Abba Yusuf.

According to the government, the donation is a strategic move to enhance the agency’s operational capacity and improve its ability to tackle substance abuse, which has been linked to rising criminal activities and social vices.

Receiving the vehicles, Lawal expressed appreciation, assuring that they would be effectively deployed to support enforcement operations, dismantle drug networks, and shut down drug hotspots across the state.

He also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the state government and law enforcement agencies in achieving sustained success in the fight against narcotics.

The support comes amid recent gains by the command, including the arrest of over 200 suspects and the closure of more than 20 drug joints under its “Operation Ramadan Mubarak.”

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
