KANYE WEST POSTPONES FRANCE CONCERT AMID CONTROVERSY
US rapper Kanye West has postponed his planned concert in Marseille following reports that French authorities were considering blocking the performance.
France’s Interior Minister, Laurent Nunez, had reportedly sought to prevent the June 11 show due to the artist’s past antisemitic remarks.
In a statement shared on social media, West said the decision to postpone the concert was his, adding that he did not want fans caught in the controversy.
The rapper, also known as Ye, has faced widespread criticism in recent years over comments and actions linked to antisemitism, which have led to restrictions in some countries, including the United Kingdom.
Despite the backlash, West stated that he is committed to making amends, acknowledging responsibility for his actions while calling for understanding from the public.
