Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has condemned the killing of Islamic cleric Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka and called for a thorough investigation.

Masussuka and his associate were reportedly shot dead by unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle outside his residence in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area on Monday night, October 26, 2026.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed, Radda expressed shock over the attack. He described the cleric as an advocate of peaceful coexistence and harmony between people of different faiths.

The governor extended his condolences to Masussuka’s family, the Islamic community and everyone affected by the deaths.

He urged security agencies to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack, identify those responsible and bring them to justice.

Radda also appealed to residents to remain calm and support the investigation by sharing credible information with security agencies.

He warned against actions that could increase tensions or threaten peace in the state.
