KATSINA GOVT TO FG: OUR PEOPLE DESERVE SAFETY, NOT CONSTANT FEAR
The Katsina State Government has appealed to the Federal Government for urgent intervention to address the worsening security crisis in the state.
The call came from the Acting Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal-Jobe, on Tuesday in Katsina, following the tragic killing of 13 worshippers in a mosque at Unguwan Muntau community, Malumfashi Local Government Area.
Lawal-Jobe described the attack as heartbreaking and emphasized the urgent need for decisive Presidential action to protect citizens from further harm.
“We respectfully request Mr President to give matching orders to all security agencies to holistically and decisively bring an end to these unprovoked attacks on our peaceful communities. The people of Katsina State deserve to live in safety and pursue their livelihoods without fear,” he said.
The acting governor stressed that farmers, traders, and families should not be forced to live under the constant threat of violence. He urged the Federal Government to mobilize all necessary resources to strengthen the security architecture of the state.
While acknowledging the efforts of existing security personnel, Lawal-Jobe praised the Community Watch Corps and Vigilante Groups for their dedication and courage in defending local communities.
The Katsina State Government reassured residents of its commitment to partner with federal authorities and security agencies in restoring peace and stability.
For now, the people of Katsina wait anxiously, hoping for swift action to end the cycle of attacks and return their communities to peace.
