Australian police have launched an investigation into US pop star Katy Perry following sexual assault allegations made by Ruby Rose.

Rose alleged in now-deleted social media posts that the incident occurred at a nightclub in Melbourne nearly two decades ago. She later confirmed that she had formally reported the matter to authorities and would no longer comment publicly.

Authorities in Victoria confirmed they are investigating a historical sexual assault case dating back to 2010 but did not officially name Perry due to the ongoing nature of the probe.

In response, Perry’s representatives strongly denied the allegations, describing them as “categorically false” and “reckless.”

The investigation remains ongoing, with police declining further comments at this stage.
