The Kebbi State Government has donated ₦50 million to support victims of recent attacks in the Zuru Emirate.

Deputy Governor Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida made the announcement during a condolence visit to Tadurga community over the weekend. He described the donation as a modest step toward helping grieving families cope with their loss.

Offering condolences on behalf of the state, the government sympathized with residents of Tadurga in Zuru Local Government Area and Kyebu in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area—both communities within the Zuru Emirate—deeply affected by the attacks.

Senator Tafida assured residents that the government is taking decisive steps to improve security, including measures to block entry routes into the affected areas to prevent future incidents.

During the visit, the Deputy Governor prayed for the souls of the victims and asked Allah to grant their families the strength to endure the tragedy.

In his remarks, the Chief of Dabai, Alhaji Suleman Sami Dabai, appreciated the government’s quick intervention and credited recent improvements in security to Governor Nasir Idris’s administration.

Local government chairmen Muhammad Bala Isah Gajere (Zuru) and Hussaini Aliyu Bena (Danko Wasagu) reported that the attacks claimed 16 lives in Tadurga and 14 more in Kyebu and Yar-Kuka, Waje District. Several others sustained injuries, while the attackers looted livestock and valuables.

The state government confirmed that the death toll from the attacks stood at 30.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
