Kenya’s President William Ruto has playfully raised concerns about a potential “brain drain,” jokingly pointing to the increasing number of Kenyan women marrying Nigerian men—including his own daughters.

Speaking at a recent wedding, in a video shared by Africa Facts Zone on X (formerly Twitter), President Ruto commented on what he sees as a romantic trend that may be leaving Kenyan men behind.

“One of my daughters is married to a Nigerian, and now another one is, too. Meanwhile, our Kenyan men are just watching. I don’t know—are you guys slow? If this continues, we might face a brain drain,” he remarked humorously.

The President also used the moment to underscore the strong diplomatic and cultural ties between Kenya and Nigeria, calling for even deeper collaboration between the two nations.

“There seems to be a connection between Kenya and Nigeria—we should explore it further,” Ruto concluded.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
