KILLABOI EXTRADITED FROM QATAR BY POLICE.
The successful extradition of Benjamin Best Nnanyereugo, known as Killaboi, from Doha, Qatar to Nigeria, follows a petition filed by the deceased’s family through their legal representatives on September 29, 2024. The petition initiated the process that led to the suspect's return.
The Nigeria Police Force confirmed his extradition in a press release on Saturday, issued by its Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, via X (formerly Twitter).
According to Adejobi, the suspect arrived in Nigeria in the early hours of Saturday, April 19, 2025, after a coordinated effort by the Nigerian Police Force, the Federal Ministry of Justice, the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Abuja, and Qatari judicial authorities.
Killaboi had been wanted since 2023 for the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Miss Augusta Onuwabhagbe.
The police reported that after committing the crime, Killaboi fled Nigeria and released an online video, falsely confessing to the act in an attempt to mislead investigators. The statement described this as a “deceptive strategy to derail investigative efforts.”
Killaboi allegedly murdered Miss Onuwabhagbe, a 21-year-old first-class student at Lead City University, Ibadan, at his residence located at 24A Abiola Apooyi Street, Oral Estate, Ajah, Lagos, on July 13, 2023.
As stated in the report, “Investigations revealed that the suspect, Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, murdered Miss Onuwabhagbe at his residence on 13th July 2023.”
Tracking his movements after fleeing the country, the police disclosed that Killaboi was arrested in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on October 20, 2023, under the false name “Kanu Princeton Samuel.” However, he escaped during a prison break on November 26, 2023.
Intelligence further revealed that the fugitive used forged identities while traveling across multiple regions, including West Africa, East Asia, and the Middle East. He was arrested after settling in Doha, where he was living and working under the name “Toure Abdoulaye,” with a fake Guinean passport.
