KWARA APC ELDERS ENDORSE REPS CANDIDATE, URGE UNITY
Prominent political leaders and stakeholders in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State have endorsed Dr Rafiu Ajakaye following his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The leaders, drawn from the 18 wards in the area, described Ajakaye as a credible and development-oriented politician capable of effective representation at the National Assembly.
Ajakaye, a former Chief Press Secretary to Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, recently won the APC House of Representatives primary for the constituency.
In a joint statement issued on Wednesday, the APC elders said his track record in public service and development-oriented engagement made him well-suited for the role.
“We are confident that Dr Rafiu Ajakaye will make us proud,” the statement read.
The stakeholders also called on other aspirants who participated in the primaries to accept the outcome in good faith and support the party’s candidate for the overall interest of the constituency.
“As leaders and stakeholders in Ifelodun, we are 100 per cent behind the candidature of our son,” they said.
They noted that while disagreements may arise after primaries, such differences should be resolved in the interest of party unity and electoral success.
The leaders also commended aspirants from other blocs within the constituency for demonstrating sportsmanship during the selection process, describing their support as significant to party cohesion ahead of the 2027 elections.
