LABOUR PARTY URGES MEMBERS TO IGNORE PETER OBI’S BY-ELECTION DIRECTIVES

The Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party (LP) has directed party members to disregard Peter Obi’s instructions ahead of the upcoming by-elections across Nigeria.

In a statement issued by factional chairman Julius Abure, the party emphasised that it is fully participating in the by-elections and urged members to vote for Labour Party candidates. Abure also stressed that Nigerians now understand Obi’s true intentions.

Recalls that Obi recently asked his supporters to back the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates in the by-elections across several states.

Describing Obi’s directive as “misleading, mischievous, and delusional,” Abure urged members to ignore what he called a malicious instruction and continue supporting Labour Party candidates.

“The attention of the leadership of the Labour Party has been drawn to a statement by the party’s former presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi. Please don’t listen to him. Nigerians have come to know who Peter Obi really is,” Abure said.

The statement underscores the continuing tensions between Obi and the Abure-led LP faction ahead of the elections, highlighting internal divisions within the party.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
