Lafarge Africa Plc has reported a 70% increase in sales revenue for the second quarter of the 2025 financial year, reaching N268.63 billion—up from N157.80 billion in the same period of 2024.

According to the company’s unaudited financial report filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) last week, operating profit jumped by 153% to N120.61 billion, compared to N47.70 billion recorded in Q2 2024. The company attributed this growth to higher revenue and improved operational efficiency.

The provisional results also showed that Profit After Tax (PAT) rose significantly by 248%, reaching N84.03 billion in Q2 2025. This increase was supported by strong operational performance and a relatively stable naira, with no major foreign exchange losses during the period.

Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, Chief Executive Officer of Lafarge Africa, credited the outstanding results to the company’s innovative product offerings, strategic operations, and efficient distribution networks.

He stated, “Building on our solid Q1 results, our Q2 performance highlights the strength of our team, market positioning, and cost management, alongside our unwavering commitment to delivering value.”

He noted that the company recorded a 70% rise in net sales, a 153% boost in operating profit, and a 248% increase in PAT in Q2 alone. For the first half of 2025, sales and operating profit grew by 75% and 144% respectively, driven by strategic initiatives and product innovation.

Looking ahead to the second half of the year, Alade-Akinyemi expressed confidence in a continued positive trajectory, expecting market growth to align with the momentum seen in the first half.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
