Emmanuel Olotu, who represents Ifako Ijaiye Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has won the All Progressives Congress primary election to contest the seat again in the forthcoming general election.

Olotu defeated his closest rival, Makinde, by 154 votes across three wards, polling a total of 1,440 votes against Makinde’s 1,286.

He attributed his victory to the support of party members and residents of Ojokoro in Ifako Ijaiye, describing the outcome as a collective win for the constituency.

According to him, the result reflects unity, resilience, and democratic spirit within the APC family in the area.

The primary election was conducted across five wards, although elections in two wards were declared inconclusive due to irregularities and disruptions.

Ward G was cancelled after votes cast exceeded the number of accredited voters, while Ward H was disrupted amid allegations of political interference despite the presence of electoral officials.

In the completed wards, Olotu won two while his opponent secured one.

Olotu called on party members to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the upcoming presidential primary, saying it would strengthen the party’s agenda for national development.

He reaffirmed his commitment to internal democracy and pledged continued service to his constituents if re-elected.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
