LAGOS ARRESTS SIX FOR DUMPING WASTE ILLEGALLY IN AGEGE
Six individuals have been apprehended by the Lagos State Government for unlawfully dumping refuse on the road median along Old Abeokuta Expressway, directly opposite the Total filling station in Agege.
The arrests, which took place on Wednesday evening, were conducted by a combined task force from the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) unit and the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources.
Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed the incident on his verified X handle, stating that the suspects were caught in the act of indiscriminate waste disposal.
The offenders have been identified as Khalifa Mohammed, Sanusi Bello, Monsuru Salisu, Uzor Michael, Michael Obi, and Ajoke Shobande.
Wahab added that they will be prosecuted in accordance with the state’s environmental laws, as part of ongoing efforts to discourage illegal waste disposal and ensure a cleaner, more hygienic environment across Lagos.
