LAGOS GOVT ANNOUNCES SCHOOL RESUMPTION DATE

The Lagos State Government has announced that all public and private schools in the state, including government-owned technical colleges, will reopen on Monday, January 12, 2026, for the second term of the 2025/2026 academic session.

The confirmation was made in a statement signed by Kayode Sutton, Deputy Director of Public Affairs, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, and dated January 7, 2026.

The government stated that schools are expected to resume full academic and administrative activities immediately to ensure a smooth continuation of the school year.

Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, urged school proprietors and administrators to strictly observe all approved public health and safety protocols as students return.
