LAGOS KILLINGS: RIGHTS GROUPS DEMAND WHEREABOUTS OF PRIME SUSPECT
Several human rights organisations have demanded immediate information on the whereabouts of the prime suspect in the recent killings in parts of Lagos State, raising concerns over possible cover-up or delay in justice.
The groups, in a joint statement, expressed worry that the suspect, who has been linked to multiple high-profile cases, has not been produced in court or accounted for publicly since his reported arrest. “The people of Lagos deserve transparency. The whereabouts of the prime suspect must be made known without further delay,” the statement read.
The killings, which generated widespread outrage, involved victims from different communities and have heightened security fears in the state. Rights activists have called on the police and relevant authorities to provide regular updates on the investigation.
The Lagos State Police Command has assured the public that the matter is being handled professionally, but has not released detailed information on the suspect’s current status.
The development has kept the case in the spotlight, with many residents demanding swift and transparent action to restore public confidence.
