Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) workers have raised serious concerns over alleged underpayment, calling out their superiors for failing to implement a rumored salary increase.

One aggrieved worker, speaking out on the matter, revealed that employees were supposedly entitled to a salary of ₦85,000, but instead, they consistently receive only ₦30,000—a stark contrast to what was allegedly promised.

“We were expecting an increase, but instead, we are still being paid far below what was discussed,” the worker lamented.

This revelation comes amidst growing frustration among LAWMA staff, who play a critical role in maintaining cleanliness across Lagos. Many employees have expressed discontent over poor remuneration despite the physically demanding nature of their jobs.

As workers demand fair compensation, all eyes are now on LAWMA officials and the Lagos State government to address these concerns and provide clarity on the alleged salary discrepancies.
