LAYCON REFLECTS ON FAME, LONELINESS, AND THE POWER OF SELF-REFLECTION
Reality star and rapper Olamilekan Agbeleshebioba, popularly known as Laycon, has shared insights into his path toward self-discovery and the importance of finding inner peace.
The ‘Fierce’ singer revealed that after winning the Big Brother Naija reality show in 2020, he lost his inner voice, only reconnecting with it a year later.
In a recent video broadcast titled Life With Laycon, the rapper emphasized that silence has been a consistent factor in his journey of personal growth.
“Has the world ever gone silent on you, leaving only your own thoughts?” he asked.
“I have been there, and I want to share part of that experience with you. After winning Big Brother Naija in 2020, I lost my inner voice. The first time I heard it again was in December 2021, after my sold-out concert, The Icons Fest,” Laycon recalled.
“The voice kept asking me questions like: ‘Is this really how you want to live? Are you enjoying yourself? What’s next after this? Are you happy?’ These questions made me want to sit alone with my thoughts. That solitude revealed many necessary, albeit uncomfortable, truths about myself,” he added.
Laycon highlighted that many people struggle to grow because they avoid loneliness and silence. He described silence as a mirror reflecting one’s life and thoughts, allowing for meaningful self-reflection and adjustments.
He encouraged fans to embrace solitude and self-reflection as essential steps toward personal accountability and growth.
