LEVERAGE NETWORKS FOR BUSINESS EXPANSION, AFC TELLS CEOS
The Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) has urged chief executive officers of leading African companies to leverage strategic networks and partnerships to drive business expansion and accelerate continental development.
The call was made by AFC’s Executive Director for Strategy and Corporate Development, Ms. Samaila Zubairu, during the Africa CEO Forum in Lagos on Friday. She emphasised that building strong networks across sectors and borders is essential for accessing capital, technology, and markets in today’s competitive environment.
“CEOs must actively leverage networks to unlock opportunities for growth. Collaboration, not isolation, will define the success of African businesses in the coming years,” Zubairu stated.
The AFC executive highlighted several successful case studies of companies that have expanded through strategic alliances, joint ventures, and cross-border investments. She encouraged participants to explore opportunities within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and to seek partnerships that align with their long-term vision.
The forum brought together CEOs from various sectors including energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and technology. Many shared experiences on how networks have helped them overcome challenges and scale their operations across the continent.
Participants agreed that stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors is critical to addressing Africa’s infrastructure deficit and creating an enabling environment for business growth. They also called for policies that facilitate easier movement of goods, services, and capital across borders.
The Africa Finance Corporation has positioned itself as a key partner for businesses seeking to expand across the continent, offering financing, advisory services, and strategic connections. The institution said it will continue to support companies that demonstrate strong growth potential and commitment to sustainable development.
As African economies seek to recover and grow, the emphasis on leveraging networks is expected to become a central theme in corporate strategy and regional integration efforts.
