LG EYES AFRICA GROWTH WITH AI-POWERED HOME SOLUTIONS
South Korean electronics giant LG has signalled strong ambitions for the African market, unveiling a range of AI-powered smart home solutions tailored to meet the continent’s evolving consumer needs and drive long-term growth.
The company highlighted innovations in energy-efficient appliances, intelligent climate control, and connected home ecosystems during a regional showcase in Lagos. LG Africa Managing Director, Mr. Park Hyung-joon, emphasised the potential of AI to enhance convenience, reduce energy costs, and improve quality of life for African households.
“We see tremendous opportunity in Africa. Our AI-powered solutions are designed to address local challenges while delivering premium experiences,” Park said. The firm plans to expand its distribution network and invest in customer education across key markets.
Industry analysts view LG’s push as part of a broader trend of global technology companies targeting Africa’s growing middle class and urbanisation wave. The company’s focus on sustainability and smart features is expected to resonate with younger consumers.
LG has committed to long-term partnerships with local stakeholders to support its expansion strategy on the continent.
