Liverpool are making strides in their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano stated on Tuesday via X that the Premier League club has begun serious negotiations, including discussions with Leverkusen about the terms of his €35 million release clause.

“Liverpool are advancing in talks to sign Jeremie Frimpong after contacts reported last week,” Romano stated. “Understand #LFC approached Bayer Leverkusen to discuss €35m release clause structure.”

Romano also mentioned that talks are continuing with the player’s representatives, with Frimpong expressing a strong desire to join Liverpool.

Frimpong was instrumental in Leverkusen’s successful Bundesliga campaign and has attracted interest from several top European clubs.
