Ademola Lookman has entered an elite group of Nigerian football greats after scoring in the Super Eagles’ victory over Mozambique on Monday at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Atalanta forward has now scored six goals for Nigeria across AFCON tournaments, placing him alongside former Super Eagles stars Segun Odegbami and Julius Aghahowa on the competition’s all-time scorers’ list.

Lookman netted three goals during the last AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire and has added another three goals in the ongoing tournament in Morocco.

Nigeria’s AFCON scoring chart is still led by legendary striker Rashidi Yekini, who scored 13 goals, while Austin Okocha sits second with seven goals.
