Ademola Lookman played a starring role as Atalanta secured a 3-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Eintracht Frankfurt at the Deutsche Bank Park on Wednesday night.

The win marked the first triumph under new coach Raffaele Palladino, who had made his debut just days earlier in a 3-1 loss to Napoli following the departure of Ivan Juric.

Lookman was at the heart of Atalanta’s success, opening the scoring on the hour mark with a clinical finish from a cross by Charles De Ketelaere. He then showcased his playmaking ability by assisting Ederson for the second goal shortly afterward.

The result lifts Atalanta to 10th position in the Champions League standings, giving the team a much-needed boost under their new manager.

Reflecting on the performance, Lookman told UEFA’s official website:

“It’s a big performance for the team. It’s a good victory away from home. In the first half we had a few chances, and coming out in the second half, we knew we had to create chances again.”

The Nigerian international’s contributions highlight his growing importance to Atalanta and underline the team’s ambitions in Europe this season.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
