MALAMI’S CASE NOT PERSONAL, I INHERITED THE INVESTIGATION — EFCC CHAIR
Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has clarified that the ongoing investigation of former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, is not personal.
Olukoyede made the remarks during an appearance on Sunday Politics, a programme on Channels Television. He explained that the investigation into Malami predates his tenure at the EFCC, noting that he inherited the case file.
“I’m yet to understand and see the facts he would bring out to support that claim,” Olukoyede said. “All I did was ensure the investigation was carried out in a very professional and thorough manner. Malami has been under investigation for almost two and a half years following the exit of Buhari’s government.”
