MANCHESTER UNITED SACK MANAGER RUBEN AMORIM AFTER 14 MONTHS
Manchester United have confirmed the dismissal of head coach Ruben Amorim, bringing an end to his 14-month spell at Old Trafford.
The 40-year-old’s final game in charge was Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Leeds United.
Amorim’s exit follows growing internal tensions between the manager and senior figures within the club’s hierarchy, including director of football Jason Wilcox.
Sources indicate that Amorim was informed of the decision during a meeting held on Monday morning with Wilcox and United’s chief executive, Omar Berrada, where he was told he had been relieved of his duties.
In an official statement, the club said the decision was made with reluctance but deemed necessary.
“The club’s leadership has reluctantly concluded that this is the right time to make a change,” the statement read.
“This decision is aimed at giving the team the best possible opportunity to achieve the highest attainable finish in the Premier League.”
