A massive crowd of civil society groups and supporters of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan stormed the National Assembly (NASS) gates on Wednesday, demanding that Senate President Godswill Akpabio step down to allow for a proper investigation into the allegations leveled against him.

The demonstrators, carrying banners and chanting slogans, insisted that Akpabio must temporarily vacate his position to ensure an unbiased probe into Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claims. The senator recently accused Akpabio of misconduct and alleged political victimization, sparking nationwide controversy.

Protesters vowed to sustain the pressure until their demands are met, calling on relevant authorities to take swift action. Security operatives were seen monitoring the situation to prevent any disruption of activities at the legislative complex.
