‘MC OLUOMO DIDN’T PROMISE TO REWARD US’ – ACTOR FOKOKO COUNTERS LALUDE OVER 2023 CAMPAIGN [VIDEO]
Veteran Nollywood actor, Alhaji Babatunde Bamgbode, popularly known as Baba Fokoko, has refuted claims made by some of his colleagues that MC Oluomo, the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), failed to fulfill promises made to them after the 2023 general elections.
Recall that several Nollywood stars, including Lalude, Alapini, Toyin Abraham, Olaiye Igwe, Seyi Law, Eniola Badmus, and Foluke Daramola, were part of the campaign team that supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 elections.
Earlier this year, actor Alapini lamented that despite their active involvement, they received no reward or recognition for their efforts. Following that, Lalude accused MC Oluomo of failing to deliver on promises allegedly made to the campaign team.
However, speaking during a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Fokoko dismissed those claims, stating clearly that MC Oluomo never promised any form of compensation to the actors.
“He didn’t promise to reward any of us. He didn’t promise me anything but he had it in mind to treat us well. It’s been more than two years now, and he never said he would give us money,” Fokoko said.
He added that MC Oluomo only provided food items during the campaign period, which were shared among the celebrities.
“He brought foodstuffs to us to share during the campaign and instructed us to distribute the remaining ones among ourselves. We went home with those food items more than twice. But he never promised to compensate us after the campaign,” he explained.
Fokoko’s statement appears to contradict Lalude’s earlier claim and has since stirred fresh reactions among fans and observers of the Nollywood community.
