Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has struck a massive $10 billion cloud partnership with Google in a move set to supercharge its artificial intelligence (AI) ambitions.

According to reports, the six-year deal will see Meta rely heavily on Google Cloud’s servers, storage, networking, and other advanced services to expand its infrastructure and handle the huge demands of AI development.

While neither company has officially commented yet, sources say the agreement is one of the biggest in the cloud industry and follows Google’s recent collaboration with OpenAI.

The partnership comes as Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg pushes forward with plans to invest hundreds of billions of dollars in building AI-focused data centres. Just last month, Meta raised its annual capital expenditure forecast by $2 billion, setting the range between $66 billion and $72 billion.

To fund these ambitious projects, Meta is also seeking outside support. Earlier this month, the company revealed plans to sell $2 billion worth of data centre assets to raise additional capital.

For Google, the deal is another big win for its rapidly growing cloud division, which reported a 32% surge in revenue in the last quarter, outpacing Wall Street expectations.

With Meta betting big on AI—and Google strengthening its position in the cloud race—this partnership signals a new era of unlikely alliances between tech giants once seen purely as rivals.
