MEXICAN TV PRESENTER DEBORA ESTRELLA DIES IN PLANE CRASH DURING FLYING LESSON
Mexican television has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of Debora Estrella, a beloved presenter on Multimedia’s Morning Telediario.
The 43-year-old journalist died alongside her instructor, Bryan Ballesteros, when their small Cessna aircraft crashed in García, Nuevo León, on Saturday, September 20.
According to reports, the plane went down around 6:50 p.m. near the Pesquería River, close to an industrial estate. Despite the swift arrival of Civil Protection Unit 04 and rescue teams, neither Debora nor her instructor survived.
Just hours before the accident, Debora had shared a photograph of the training plane with the caption, “Guess what”, hinting at her flying lesson.
Her employer, Multimedia, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement:
“At MULTIMEDIA we are shocked and deeply sorry for the loss of our colleague. Debora Estrella, 43 years old, was running the Morning Telediario in Monterrey since 2018… We express our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. Rest in peace, mate.”
Debora had been a familiar face on Mexican television for years, admired for her professionalism and charisma. Her final post on social media—a smiling photo from the studio with the caption “Buenos días”—has since become a poignant farewell.
Fans and colleagues have flooded social media with tributes, remembering her as a radiant and passionate broadcaster who left an indelible mark on the screen.
