The Minister of Youth Affairs, Ayodele Olawande, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State to unite and work towards securing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking with journalists in Akure on Friday, Olawande urged young party members to actively participate in the APC presidential direct primary scheduled for Monday and mobilise support for the President across the state.

According to the minister, he is committed to collaborating with party leaders and stakeholders in Ondo State to ensure Tinubu records a strong electoral performance in the state.

Olawande argued that Tinubu deserves a second term based on what he described as visible developmental achievements and increased federal government presence in Ondo State.

He cited ongoing federal projects, including the dualisation of the Akure–Ore Road, the Akure–Ado Road project, the establishment of a teaching hospital institution in Akure, and support for the Federal University of Technology, Akure.

“These projects reflect the administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and healthcare delivery in the state,” he said.

The minister also highlighted what he described as unprecedented federal representation for Ondo State, noting that the state currently has three ministers serving in the Federal Executive Council, alongside several ambassadorial and other federal appointments.

“For the first time in our history, Ondo State has three members in the Federal Executive Council. This is unprecedented. It shows the President’s belief in our capacity and our role in building the Nigeria of our dreams,” Olawande stated.

He maintained that the appointments demonstrate the Tinubu administration’s confidence in Ondo State and its contributions to national development.

Olawande therefore called on APC members to participate fully in the forthcoming presidential primary, describing it as important to sustaining the achievements of the current administration.

“We are ready. Ondo State is ready. We will stand united to ensure that the President returns to office to continue the good work he has started,” he said.

The appeal comes as the APC continues consultations and mobilisation efforts nationwide ahead of its internal electoral processes and the 2027 general elections, with Ondo State expected to be a key state in the party’s South-West political strategy.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
