MO SALAH ADMITS HE'S NOT "CONNECTED" WITH NEW TEAMMATE EKITIKE
Salah Admits He's Still Figuring Out New Teammates as Liverpool's Attack is Overhauled
Liverpool's star forward, Mohamed Salah, has confessed that he is still working on building a connection with new teammate Hugo Ekitike. The Reds have had a busy transfer window, bringing in several new attacking players, including Ekitike and Florian Wirtz, to replace key departures. The team also completed a deadline-day move for Alexander Isak.
Speaking on the Men In Blazers podcast, Salah revealed that the new attacking lineup is still a work in progress. "So far, I haven't figured the connections out yet," Salah said. "Like with Darwin or Lucho or the guys they used to play in front, or Diogo. I knew where to start with Diogo or Darwin. I know where to find them."
The Egyptian's comments highlight the challenge of integrating new players into a well-established system. While Liverpool has started the season with three straight wins, their performances have been less than convincing, and Salah himself has only one goal and one assist in the new campaign.
The overhaul of the Reds' attack was prompted by the departures of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, as well as the tragic death of Diogo Jota in a car crash. With Ekitike and Isak now on board, Salah and his new teammates will have to quickly develop a strong understanding of the field to continue their winning ways. Salah is confident that this will happen, saying he will "figure it out soon because it's also going to help my game to grow as well." This suggests a period of transition as the team adjusts to its new-look attack.
