Adebutu and Gwarzo Face Uncertainty as Pantami Gets Clearance
The governorship ambitions of Ladi Adebutu in Ogun State and Aminu Gwarzo in Kano State remain uncertain following INEC’s review of complaints concerning candidate lists for the 2027 elections.
According to an unnamed INEC source cited in the report, their petitions were among 64 rejected by the commission on Thursday.

Seven Modular Refineries Expected to Start in 2027
Seven modular refineries with a combined capacity of 83,000 barrels per day are projected to begin operations in Nigeria next year.
Argus Media’s George Maher-Bonnett disclosed the projection at the OTL Africa Downstream conference in Lagos on Wednesday.
He said four modular refineries were operating in September, with a combined capacity of 32,000 barrels per day. The proposed additions would expand local refining capacity if they begin operations as expected.
Philanthropist Pledges Housing and Scholarships to Singer’s Family
Osun philanthropist Ibraheem Luqman has offered accommodation to the father of late gospel singer Toluwanisings and scholarships for the singer’s two daughters.
The pledge followed public concern after images and videos of the elderly man’s living conditions circulated online.
Luqman’s campaign organisation said a delegation visited Muniru Adekunle Olayemi in Ikirun to communicate the offer.
The proposed support includes more comfortable accommodation within the town and educational sponsorship for his grandchildren. The announcement did not confirm that the arrangements had been completed.
