MOURINHO: REAL MADRID’S GOAL IS THE LA LIGA TITLE AFTER CLáSICO WIN

José Mourinho has made it clear that Real Madrid’s ambitions extend beyond beating Barcelona, insisting that winning La Liga remains the priority.

Speaking after Madrid’s 2–1 Clásico victory, Mourinho said: “We don’t play to win El Clásico in Barcelona. Real Madrid play to win La Liga.”

The result gave Madrid an important victory over their rivals, but Mourinho’s message kept attention on the wider title race.

For the coach, the challenge is to build on the win and maintain the consistency needed across the season. Celebrating success in Barcelona is one moment; turning those three points into a league-winning campaign is the bigger target.
