The Chief Executive Officer of MTN has urged African governments to implement stable and predictable policies to unlock greater investment across the continent and accelerate economic growth.

Speaking at an industry event, the telecom executive said consistent regulations are essential for building investor confidence and encouraging long-term investments in critical sectors such as telecommunications, technology, and digital infrastructure.

He noted that policy uncertainty often discourages businesses from making major investment decisions, limiting innovation, job creation, and economic development. According to him, a stable regulatory environment would enable companies to expand operations, improve connectivity, and support Africa's digital transformation agenda.

The MTN chief also emphasized the importance of collaboration between governments and the private sector to create policies that promote sustainable growth while fostering competition and innovation.

Industry analysts say predictable economic and regulatory policies remain key to attracting both local and foreign investors. They added that stronger public-private partnerships could help bridge Africa's infrastructure gap and position the continent as an increasingly attractive destination for global investment.
