Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on Monday joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s delegation on an official state visit to Brazil, following a special invitation from the president.

Although absent from the recent government delegation to Japan, Mutfwang was among senior Nigerian officials who welcomed the President at the Air Base in Brazil and is now part of the high-level engagements.

According to a statement by the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, Mutfwang is expected to participate in a series of bilateral talks and the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) alongside President Tinubu and other senior officials. These discussions are aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic ties with Brazil.

The visit also includes scheduled meetings with key Brazilian leaders, such as the President of the Senate at the National Congress, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, and the President of the Supreme Federal Court. The delegation will also take part in the Nigeria-Brazil Business Forum in Brasília.

In addition to national discussions, Mutfwang will engage with Brazilian government representatives and business leaders to explore investment opportunities that could benefit Plateau State.

This development follows Plateau State’s recent selection as one of six Nigerian states designated to host a regional hub under the $1.1 billion Green Imperative Project—a major agricultural industrialisation initiative within the Nigeria-Brazil partnership.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
