MY BARCELONA TEAM WAS LUCKY TO WIN EVERYTHING, SAYS MESSI

Lionel Messi has reflected on his successful years at Barcelona, saying he feels fortunate to have been part of a team that won every major club trophy.

For the Argentine, the memories extend beyond the silverware. His reflections also highlight the enjoyment of playing alongside his teammates and sharing some of football’s biggest moments.

Messi spent most of his senior career at Barcelona, winning 10 La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies before leaving in 2021.

His description of being “lucky” expresses gratitude for those experiences, rather than suggesting Barcelona’s achievements came down to chance.

The club’s success was built around talented players, strong teamwork and a recognisable style of football. Messi was central to that era, playing alongside figures including Xavi Hernández, Andrés Iniesta and Sergio Busquets.

Barcelona completed league, domestic cup and Champions League trebles in 2009 and 2015, milestones that remain among the club’s most celebrated achievements.

For supporters, those years produced unforgettable goals, memorable performances and major victories. For Messi, they also represented friendships and shared experiences formed over many seasons.

His reflections offer a reminder that, even in a career filled with individual awards, the memories created with a successful team can carry lasting personal meaning.
