‘MY OGA’: CUBANA CHIEF PRIEST CELEBRATES OBI CUBANA’S NEW CHIEFTAINCY TITLE
Nigerian celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest has taken to social media to celebrate his former boss, billionaire businessman Obi Cubana, on receiving a new chieftaincy title.
Obi Cubana was recently conferred with the title Okpataozueora I of Oba by the Igwe of Oba, His Royal Majesty Engr. Sir Augustine Chinedu Emelobe, GON (Eze Okpoko II of Oba), in Anambra State.
At the ceremony, the monarch described Cubana as an illustrious son of Oba whose achievements have brought honour to the community. The title was awarded in recognition of Cubana’s contributions to human capital development, community empowerment, and the promotion of Igbo cultural heritage.
Taking to Instagram, Chief Priest congratulated his former boss, affectionately referring to him as his “Oga.” He wrote:
"My Oga @obi_cubana Double Chief Okpataozuora 1 Na Oba. Congratulations, Sir, Chief Na Water."
This latest honour adds to a series of chieftaincy titles for Cubana, following the Ife Igbo-Ji-Ka title recently conferred by the Igwe and traditional council of Enugwu–Ukwu na Umunri, led by Igwe Ralph Obumnemeh Ekpeh.
Last year, during Obi Cubana’s 50th birthday celebrations, Chief Priest shared memories of their friendship, describing Obi as the person who discovered and believed in him first. He prayed for God’s blessings, good health, and continued success for his mentor. He even expressed a desire to continue learning from Obi Cubana in his next life, praising his composure, style, and overall class.
The friendship between Obi Cubana and Cubana Chief Priest has seen its ups and downs. After a period of public fallout, the duo reconciled in 2021. They have since shared moments together, including attending important family events and celebrating milestones.
Chief Priest has also publicly supported Obi Cubana during challenging times, including his arrest in 2021, emphasizing resilience and solidarity. Their bond was further highlighted when Chief Priest gifted 47 cows for Obi Cubana’s mother’s burial, a gesture that Obi praised as record-setting generosity.
